For this assignment I had the choice of making a poster, advert or short film and the one I choose was a short film. I chose this because it was easy and I was familiar with it, most of my previous work was based around producing a short film and I enjoyed making it.
For my research I used a book which described camera andgle and techniques and another based around making short films. I also research a YouTuber who makes short films. The reason why I chose a YouTuber was because he inspired me to do media this year.
For my primary research I did a location recce to find out where I was going to film. I also did secondary research, which was reading books and looking up on YouTube videos. I researched on my favourite YouTuber which is "devinsupertramp" and I looked up on his famous short films. I like him because he makes his films with famous company's and he uses the same software that we use for college (Adobe Premier). The content he produces is usually gaming and parkour (free-running) which is my favourite videos, I always wait for his new videos and I'm always the first one to watch his videos. The books I looked up on were making of short films and camera angles which helped me to create my final video. The most helpful were camera angles and short films on YouTube. He has inspired me to make my final film because he uses parkour for his films and I added some scenes which were to do with parkour and mainly running scenes which I copied, one of my scenes I had the camera rotating and that's the scene that I really wanted for my film.
The main plan was to have a twist in the film which was that the student is late for class and he gets told off by the teacher but later he knows it was all a dream but sadly the maximum length of the short film was two and half minutes and I had to change the ideas and also my location which I picked for location recce was not accessible on the filming day so I had to change my location. I only had three hours to film so I had to make my film really quick. Later I used Adobe Premiere to edit the film and it took me nearly five lessons to finish my film and upload it on YouTube.
While the editing process I faced a really hard challenge where I had to add a text in introduction of my film which was to blend the text in to the tram.
To do this I had to go on different softwares which were Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop.
Adobe After Effects was recommended for this and I imported the whole scene to MP4 but sadly our computers couldn't handle that software so I went on Adobe Photoshop and got the text and import it to Adobe Premiere. I did the same for "Starring Scottie Adjevi."
The techniques I learnt were constant gain, constant power and exponential fade which were for sound effects if you wanted to blend in two sounds in to one. Also you can double click the sound on the timeline and adjust the sounds and make the high pitch or low pitch. The music I used were good for an action/comedy film and the only problem I faced was one of the scene didn't get along with the music, this was on my peer feedback so I changed it to a music which describes the scene. The music describe about drugs and my scene was that the two actors had to pretend to be drug dealers, I was trying to make my film comedy so I used a slow rap/slang music for the scene. This makes this generation laugh because the rap is common in the UK and most teenagers listen to rap when they're on their way to school/work.

This a storyboard for one scene which I had to replace but unfortunately I did't had time to do it.
I had to recreate the scene where my two actors had to act out a drug deal because it didn't make sense but it was a feedback given by one of my teachers. I tried using sound effects to match the scene but sadly it didn't work.
This is my original story board which was completely changed when it came to the filming day.
I still have the original idea but sadly I couldn't make it because the maximum length was two and half minutes. I wanted to have more facial expressions but that also adds time which could have been longer and I only had three hours for my film shooting.
On Friday 6th May at 9am
We went out to film. I was in a group of 4 people including myself. They all had a role as a crew member and actor, I had a major role to direct the film and be the camera men. It wasn't easy because we had heavy equipment and we had the responsibility to take care of it. The weather was sunny and it was a good thing for our film but it also affected our actors because we had to run multiple times for the film, there were only two retakes in the whole film.We finished and arrived college at 12 pm but I had to do my final scene where Mark Epton (teacher) shouts at Scottie for being late, which was done in under 10 minutes.
Later that day I went home and took the footage from my SD card and I made a folder with the clips which I wanted for my short film and put in there, this made it easier for me because I had the right clips and it was on my own time which means I didn't have to waste time in class.
The hard part was that the pre production wasn't finished but I did the ones which were more important, I asked my teacher if she could tell me the mos important pre production work and she written it on piece of paper, I used that paper to locate the work on"Moodle"
Overall I am happy with my film but I could have made it better if I had more time but we learn from our mistakes and I will make sure to take more time when I film.I will change my filming day when I have a longer lesson so I have longer time. The only thing I wasn't happy with was that I didn't have any facial expression because I was worried because of the length of my short film.
One major thing I forgot was to give it an age rating and I might lose marks but now while watching it I will give it age rating on "12" and that is because I had a small violence scene but except that the film is clean.
I had a major improvement on time management which is that I have finished my assignment before deadline and thanks to my schedule because every week I used to look at it and do my work so i'm up to date.
I have collected my response from survey monkey.

I received some positive response and I am happy with it because it would have made my film more better. This survey was for the students in my class.
My viewers were happy and I asked them what age rating would they give and one of them said "12" and others agreed to universal. I personally don't think it's universal because it has a bit of violence but the rest is clean so if I didn't add the scene then it would be universal.
Overall I am happy with the response.

(it might not work because I have to sign in)
My presentation was on Wednesday 8th June and it went really good, I was confident and I knew what to say without keep on looking at the board. The only problem was that on peer feedback that I didn't have any feedback from students but I had a good feedback from teachers.
I made the survey monkey for students to give me the feedback and I thought that the presentation is more serious so I asked teachers for peer feedback.
In future I will ask one teacher and 1 student for peer feedback on presentation and more slides to add more images and talk about work in detail. The images would be good because it would make my work professional and creative.
